阿契美尼德王朝
波斯帝国阿契美尼德王朝（公元前550年-公元前330年），又称“阿契美尼德帝国”、“波斯第一帝国”，是波斯首个征服大部份中亚地区的帝国。疆域最广时东至今巴基斯坦，西北至今土耳其，西南至埃及，。
公元前549年居鲁士二世统一波斯，第二年（前550年）击败了当时统治波斯的米底人，称王，建立了阿契美尼德王朝，使波斯成为一个强盛的帝国。前539年，居鲁士占领巴比伦，释放被称为“巴比伦之囚”的犹太人重归故里。
到了大流士一世，帝国疆域得到了空前的拓展。大流士向东进軍印度河流域，在西线对希腊的进攻（希波战争）则由于马拉松战役（前490年）的失败而功败垂成。其子薛西斯一世后來（前480年）再度对希腊用兵遭受失败。
公元前330年代，领导希腊诸城邦的马其顿的亚历山大大帝崛起，向东征伐，消灭了阿契美尼德帝国，末代国王大流士三世被部下所杀。
阿契美尼德帝国是亚历山大帝国以前世界上存在过的最大的帝国。
