Joomla! 是一套免費, open source 內容管理系統 written with PHP for 發佈內容在 WWW and Intranets, 使用 MySQL 資料庫。 Joomla! 包括的特點像是頁面快取來提高效能, RSS提供, 可列印版本的頁面, 新聞摘要, 部落格, polls, 網站搜尋, 與語言國際化. Joomla!是授權於GPL之下。

Joomla! 在 2006年贏得 Packt 頒發的最佳開源內容管理系統獎。^[1]

Joomla! 是 Swahili 的英文串法，意思是「all together」或「as a whole」。它是承諾反射研發團隊與社群的承諾到這個專案。第一個 release 版本的 Joomla! (Joomla! 1.0.0) 發佈於 2005年 9月16日。這是一個重新烙印 release of Mambo 4.5.2.3 combined with 其他的 bug 與適度的安全性修正。在這個專案的 roadmap, 核心研發者說 Joomla! 1.5 將是一個完全被重寫的程式碼建立於 PHP 5。
